Alumni Congress
and Alumni Association Meeting Held in Rome
|
AIESEC
in Italy and AIESEC Alumni International organized jointly an alumni congress happening parallel to
IPM 2009, Rome. The Congress gathered more than 70 alumni from various generations and
nationalities. Alumni discussed the current economic crisis, the role of ethics in the business
environment and shared stories from their time in AIESEC. The conference featured speakers
like: Jean
Jacques Grasse (UN FAO), Daniel
Truran, Arthur Dahl (EBBF).
The
highlight of the event were a couple of common sessions the alumni had with the AIESEC delegates,
thus reliving the spirit of the AIESEC conferences they enjoyed once.
|
As
a parallel track to the alumni congress, AIESEC International called for a meeting of the heads of
alumni associations. The meeting was attended by representatives of 8 alumni associations (AIESEC
Alumni International, AIESEC Alumni Association India, AIESEC Alumni Germany, AIESEC Alumni
Belgium, AIESEC Alumni France, Italian Alumni Group, AIESEC Life US, Japanese Alumni Association,
Alumni Initiative Indonesia and an individual alumnus, Bernd Thomas). The meeting was the first
attempt to bring alumni associations together and to initiate effective communication and
cooperation among them. The output of the meeting will be mailed to the alumni associations’
heads.

Answers:
We have a
solution. 59 % Growth of Realized Internships in January and February
Once
again AIESEC is proving economically compatible supply of talent even in the times of economic
downturn. In the time of crisis, the proven short-term and flexible talent supply which the Global
Internship program of AIESEC offers to businesses and students seems more than ever a smart choice.
Just for the months of January and February, AIESEC globally has realized 1162 internships (compared to 730 for the same period last
year).
The
astonishing growth of 59% is also coming as a result of more and more AIESEC alumni taking AIESEC interns in their
companies.
If
you want to know more or take an intern, contact your local AIESEC chapter (
